NASCAR in Daytona Playoff, where watch?
There’s one playoff race left in the NASCAR Cup Series. There is one final challenge for the winning drivers. An incredible race The Coke Zero Sugar 400 starts at 7:00 p.m. at Daytona International Speedway. Saturday.
You can watch it on NBC or listen to it on MRN or Sirius XM NASCAR. 15 riders have qualified for the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs starting next weekend in Darlington. Bubba Wallace, who won the top 12 at Watkins Glen last week, is now 32 points ahead of rookie Ty Gibbs in the 16th and final playoff race.
Wallace doesn’t need to win at Superspeedway to earn a spot, but each new winner will retain the #1 car. 23 out of 23 games17 drivers (about half of the court), including Wallace, are vying for the final playoff spot at Saturday’s Daytona race.
Nascar 14 other drivers
Wallace is now qualified for the playoffs, with Taj Gibbs and Daniel Suarez both under 50 points. However, there are 14 other drivers who could secure their playoffs by taking first place on Saturday, including 2020 Cup winner Chase Elliott and last year’s Daytona 500 winner Austin Cindric.
As one of NASCAR’s top Supertrack drivers, Wallace needs just 24 more points to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in his career. Also, Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin are competing for the regular season and will receive 15 bonus points (equivalent to three race wins), but not the driver’s overall playoff points.
Two-time winner of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship
William Byron has had five wins this year, the most of all drivers, but some inconsistencies this summer have kept the Hendrick Motorsports driver behind Truex (Trex) and Hamlin. This is the final season for the NASCAR team. GMS Racing, a two-time winner of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship, announced on Wednesday that it will retire at the end of the season. Originally known as Gallagher Motorsports, GMS Racing was founded in 2012 by entrepreneur Maury Gallagher.
Last year Gallagher bought a majority stake in Richard Petty Motorsports and will race the ‘Petty GMS’ race car team in 2022. “Without their hard work and dedication, we wouldn’t have won two Truck Championships, three ARCA Championships and 68 victories,” said Gallagher in the statement. “We want to finish the year on a high note and complete our legacy with another Truck Series title, this time.”
Grant Enfinger, Daniel Dye and Raja Caruth represent GMS Racing in this year’s Truck Series. Enfinger’s Kansas and St. Louis will be the team’s only driver in the game. The team is the most successful in the Chevrolet Series. Gallagher is also the owner of Legacy Motor Club, a Cup racing team once known as Petty GMS Racing.
Gallagher is co-owner of the Legacy Automobile Club with seven-time Cup winner and soon-to-be NASCAR Hall of Famer Jimmy Johnson. Legacy Motor Club announced in May that they would switch from Chevrolet to Toyota after this season.
